Hi, I’m Ruth - the photographer for people who hate having their photo taken!

I believe the best images happen in the gaps between the poses. Whether you’re a CEO needing to look approachable or a parent trying to wrangle a toddler, my goal is the same: to make the camera disappear so the real you can show up.

I have a background in both the health service and animal husbandry and I’ve learned that great photography is 10% settings and 90% psychology. I don't just "take photos" — I hold the space so you can feel relaxed, confident, and entirely yourself.

With a horse mad daughter who has started competing in dressage tests, I have found myself drawn into an equestrian world that I am here for! Working both showjumping events, dressage tests as well as summers involved in eventing and team chasing I am able to capture all of your equestrian event needs.

When I’m not behind the lens either in Preston or out in the Lancashire and Lake District countryside, you’ll usually find me with my dogs in the hills of the Lake District - trying to bag all 214 Wainwright Tops!, volunteering and working with the alpacas and llamas, or chasing my own family around. I bring that same down-to-earth energy to every shoot.
